Day 14 Your Courage Coach

Courage Day 4:

Courage to overcome your past: If you dropped out of school, were an addict, are a single parent. etc etc you have a past to overcome! True true most of the time the only person not letting go of your past is YOU!!!

The apostle Paul had a reputation to overcome. He was a religious bigot before he devoted 3 years to solitude and study in his new ministry. He was a wonderful example of not being the same person after Jesus gets you.

Today we learned of 3 important concepts to help overcome the past.
1. Your past displays God's grace.
What in your past can God use to show others that he has unlimited patience and mercy??

2. Your past must be released.
The past can be a prison if you don't let it go. This means you may have to release a person, an event, or a shame so that you can move on.

3. Your past has been renewed.
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come; the old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17

Courage to overcome pain: Physical or emotional, declare; "I will not let fear ruin one more day."

Courage to overcome failure: My failure was divorce. I made a commitment I did not keep. HOWEVER.... a) failure is a good warning b) failure builds character c) failure IS NOT FATAL! Ooh that's good let's say it again. Louder this time "FAILURE IS NOT FATAL!"

Jesus will not give up on you when you blow it. God is the God of second chances. If only we were as easy on ourselves.
